WHAT THEOLOGY MEANS TO ME

 

Theology is the study of God in relation to His creation.

When I am reading the Bible, I am reading about the relationship between God and His creation, in particular, human beings.

I must believe the Bible is God’s truth about His relationship with all of creation.

I must believe God does not change, and His truth is eternal and unchangeable.

I must strive to apply God’s eternal truth to my life wherever it is relevant to my circumstances, for I am a created being.

Before I can apply God’s eternal truth to my life, I must first find out what His eternal truth is.

With God’s help, I will find His eternal truth by understanding what He has said to people in the Bible.    

After I understand what God requires of human beings, with God’s help, I must obey Him by applying His truth to the circumstances of my life.

For I am a woman, a being created by God, to be in a right relationship with God.
